Removing Red Wine Stains from Carpets

15 March 2026 · 5 min read

Act fast: blot, don't rub, with a clean white cloth. Rubbing pushes the wine deeper into the fibres.

Apply cold water and continue blotting. Avoid hot water, which sets the stain.

For stubborn stains, a mix of dish soap and hydrogen peroxide works well, but always patch test first.

If the stain is older than 24 hours or has dried in, call Sparklify. Our specialist treatment lifts most wine stains completely.
